ECU Integrated Coastal Programs and the Coastal Studies Institute
2020 Leo W. Jenkins Society Virtual Event
The Ripple Effect of Giving
The Ripple Effect of Giving – On December 1, 2020, we celebrate the generous philanthropy of the Leo W. Jenkins Society and the ripple effect of their legacy gifts. The extraordinary forethought shown by members of the Jenkins Society in establishing planned gifts for ECU will impact future generations of Pirate students, alumni, faculty, the citizens of our region and beyond! Just like the ripple effect occurs when a stone is thrown into the water, their gifts inspire other friends and alumni to give back to ECU, inspire students to achieve success, and inspire faculty to do outstanding work in teaching and research! Much like any story of giving that moves us, these planned giving donors have a remarkable ability to inspire those supported by them and around them to want to positively impact the world around them as well. Watch these ripples…It’s extraordinary.
The Coastal Studies Institute
On the coast, through the Coastal Studies Institute (CSI), ECU’s work is having long-term impact on the marine studies and the “health” of our coastal region. The work being done at CSI similarly brings a ripple effect of its own – inspiring all of us to protect it!
