Research
Research in the Department of Coastal Studies focuses on exploring interdisciplinary coastal issues across the land-sea interface. Faculty in the department is working on multiple coastal issues that aim to increase our understanding of the dynamics of social-ecological systems with respect to natural resources management (e.g., marine fisheries, off-shore energy), biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation and resilience, including the use of nature-based adaptation, and renewable energy to foster ecosystem health and human well-being in the face of climate change and other perturbations.
